A tech company has revealed that it’s working on a hat that will be able to read the wearer’s mind and even complete tasks like typing for them.
Over the last few years, there have been plenty of developments when it comes to smart technology helping with everyday life. Some refrigerators are now stocked with artificial intelligence so they’ll remind you when you’re running low on an item or it’s close to an expiry date.
Other items, like smart glasses, can be used to ask questions and even control devices around your house and office. However, we haven’t yet seen flying cars or teleportation take off like The Jetsons promised us.
There has been a new development on the wearable tech front, with a startup developing a hat that can read your mind.
Sabi Cap is designed to read the mind of wearers
That’s right, according to Futurism, Sabi, the Palo Alto-based startup, has been working on a beanie hat that will be able to transcribe your thoughts.
As per the report, the Sabi Cap is lined with 100,000 electroencephalography (EEG) sensors, which read electrical signals from your brain into “usable data” for an AI model.
The AI model has already been trained on “100,000 hours of data” from 100 volunteers, according to Wired.
As of writing, the design of the hat hasn’t been unveiled, but it is supposed to be released at some point in 2026.

Instead of a hat, a neuralink chip is implanted in a patient, allowing them to think about things and make their body react accordingly. It’s been used to help paralyzed people play Chess and video games, and given them “new hope” for the future.
As noted, it remains to be seen if the Sabi cap will actually release in the near future. Only then will we be able to see how it stacks up.
