TWICE star Momo has shocked Pokemon TCG collectors after removing a vintage PSA 9 Suicune ex from its protective slab to display inside her phone case.
The Japanese singer and dancer was first photographed with the card at Incheon International Airport on July 19. Fans quickly identified the collectible sitting behind the transparent back of her phone case as a first-edition Suicune ex from the Japanese Magma vs Aqua: Two Ambitions set.
Momo then put the card at the center of an Instagram post on July 24, sharing a selfie with the loose card stuck to her cheek. She also uploaded a look at the opened PSA holder, appearing to confirm that the graded card had been deliberately removed.

How much is Momo’s Suicune ex worth?
The card is Suicune ex 027/080, released on October 24, 2003, as part of the Japanese Magma vs Aqua: Two Ambitions expansion.
PriceCharting currently values a PSA 9 copy at $171.29, while an ungraded copy is estimated at $54.65. A PSA 10 is valued considerably higher at $813.82.
However, the PSA 9 estimate is based on only one completed sale recorded by the tracker. That copy sold for $171.29 in June 2025, meaning the card has a very thin sales history.
Active eBay listings for PSA 9 copies are currently priced much higher, ranging from around $650 to more than $1,000. Those are asking prices rather than completed sales, which likely explains why some reports have valued Momo’s card at more than $2,000.
Cracking the slab did not physically destroy the card, and Momo could submit it for grading again. However, it no longer carries its verified PSA 9 status outside the tamper-evident holder. Any scratches or other damage picked up while inside her phone case could also result in a lower grade if it were resubmitted under PSA’s grading standards.

Collectors and TWICE fans were divided over the decision. One person questioned why Momo purchased a graded copy instead of a cheaper raw card, while another argued that owners should be allowed to “enjoy your grails how you want.”
Others joked that Momo had increased its value rather than destroyed it. “A card put on her skin should be quadruple the value of a PSA 10,” one fan wrote, while another declared that its “emotional value is still pristine.”
Fellow TWICE member Nayeon also joined in, commenting “Steal the card” beneath Momo’s Instagram post.
