An Australian mother says her family’s quiet rural lifestyle has been turned upside down after a neighboring landowner allegedly built towering dirt walls filled with manure around her property.
Megan Perry has lived at her home in Dooralong, New South Wales, for the past 12 years, where she raised five children surrounded by open countryside and free-range animals.
However, she claims conditions changed dramatically after brothers Elefthrous and Petros Karagounis purchased the farmland surrounding three sides of her property for $10 million in early 2025.
According to Perry, what started as a dispute with the new owners quickly escalated into months of ongoing harassment, construction work, and the creation of large earthen barriers surrounding her home.
Mom says neighbor trapped manure between 10-foot walls and her fence
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Perry claimed piles of manure were dumped just feet from her fence line and left there for weeks before dirt embankments were constructed around her property.
“Piles and piles of it,” Perry said. “And they just left it there for six weeks.”
She alleges the walls eventually reached roughly 10 feet tall, trapping the manure between the barrier and her fence. Perry also claims one of the brothers regularly walks along the top of the mound surrounding her home during the day and night.
“We have cameras. I can see him,” she said. “He uses it as his own personal footpath and is just out there walking around our home, sometimes at 3 a.m. just whistling.”
Perry says the changes have created a number of problems for her family, including excessive dust, flooding, brown tap water, and an unusable swimming pool. She also claims a real estate agent informed her the property can no longer be sold under its current conditions.

“Our house has been deemed unsellable,” Perry said. “I can’t even move if I want to and our living environment is horrendous.”

According to Perry, the dispute began shortly after the neighboring property changed ownership. She claims she warned one of the brothers that riders occasionally became trapped inside the property and she would help them exit through her gate when necessary.
Perry alleges he responded by saying anyone trespassing on his land “will get shot in the leg.”
The ongoing dispute has reportedly resulted in multiple court appearances and an interim Personal Violence Order against one of the brothers. Perry said she has submitted more than 100 pages of evidence to local authorities and has spent hours speaking with police investigators assigned to the case.
“Our whole family is too scared to be in our home,” she said. “As soon as I hear those engines my heart starts pounding and I’m not sleeping.”
Local authorities reportedly ordered the walls to be removed in January, though enforcement has been paused while a development application is reviewed. Perry says she continues to fight the matter without legal representation and claims the barriers remain in place despite the council’s previous order.
“I have over 100 pages of evidence, countless event numbers from police,” she said. “It’s become so crazy.”
The dispute mirrors another high-profile neighbor feud involving YouTuber Philip DeFranco, whose family accused a neighboring property owner of cutting down more than 100 trees that had provided privacy around their home.
DeFranco said the removal dramatically changed the property and led to an ongoing conflict between the two sides.
