A new genre of browser games is going viral for allowing fans to assemble a team of iconic players in different sports, from the NBA and NHL to the Premier League.
2026 is the year of popular browser games, from a strange cat-brushing sim to a site that turns Wikipedia pages into a trading card game. Although they range from cute to downright bizarre, the thing they all share is that they’re addictive.
Now, a new type is picking up steam that’s designed specially for sports fans, as it challenges them to go an entire season unbeaten.
82-0 NBA game has given way soccer & hockey versions
The instigator was 82-0, a browser game that lets you put together a team of players from every era of the NBA, dating all the way back to the 1960s. Once assembled, a full season is predicted, with the ultimate goal being to achieve 82 wins without defeat.
This is no easy task, though, as you can’t just pick and choose the best of the best. You spin the wheel to get a specific team and decade, and then choose a player to add to the squad. Each player has a rating depending on how they performed at that time, so you’re never guaranteed to get an icon like Michael Jordan or LeBron James.
No idea who made this game, but it's extremely fun and addicting.

The game has gained plenty of attention as millions of basketball fans jump in, but it’s also inspired several iterations from other sports, which have also gone viral. This includes the NHL version, 84-0.
One of the biggest, titled 32-0, takes the concept and applies it to soccer and the English Premier League. Just like 82-0, fans must create a dream team using random players from every season since 1992, but it takes it one step further by actually simulating the entire season, complete with actual results, goalscorers, and a league table.

This is the latest in a long line of browser games that have taken the internet by storm, following the likes of the piano-based survival game and the original Super Monkey Ball.
