A new version of the Nintendo Switch 2 could already be on the way, as fresh leaks suggest the console may be getting an updated display designed to address one of fans’ biggest complaints.
It’s only been a short time since the Switch 2 launched, but Nintendo’s latest console has already had an eventful start. Alongside price increases in some regions, a number of players have also raised concerns about the handheld’s LCD screen.
Many users have reported problems with their screen, noting noticeable ghosting, slow response times, and blurry visuals, particularly in fast-moving games. While Nintendo has yet to comment on those complaints, a new leak suggests the company may already be preparing a revised display.
Nintendo Switch 2 leak points to updated LCD display
According to Nintendo Patents Watch on Bluesky, “A new model of Switch 2 LCD panel, most likely by Sharp, has surfaced on a Chinese resale site. Compared with the launch model from Innolux, the exposed circuit, connector, and cables are significantly different, indicating an updated design – not merely a minor revision.”

The leaked panel is reportedly a 7.9-inch, 1080p LCD, suggesting Nintendo is not changing the screen’s size or resolution. Instead, the updated hardware could point to improvements behind the scenes, potentially addressing some of the image quality concerns raised by players since launch.
However, nothing has been officially confirmed by Nintendo, meaning the updated panel should be treated as a leak until the company announces otherwise.
Adding further speculation to the reports, Nintendo is already preparing a revised Switch 2 model for Europe that allows users to replace the battery more easily in order to comply with upcoming regulations. It remains to be seen whether this updated hardware will also include the new display, or if Nintendo plans to release a separate revision of the Switch 2 with the improved screen.
