Bricks & Minifigs reiterates offer to make Mansell family “whole” in new response

Bricks & Minifigs has published its most detailed response yet to the controversy surrounding Bryan Mansell’s Star Wars LEGO collection, reiterating that it intends to make the family “whole” while disputing several claims that have circulated throughout the saga.

The June 29 statement expands on the company’s previous public comments, outlining what it says its internal investigation uncovered while also detailing changes it has made in response to the controversy.

Bricks & Minifigs disputes valuation and missing LEGO claims

According to the company, its investigation found documentation valuing the collection at between $95,000 and $100,000, disputing the widely cited $200,000 figure that has featured throughout the controversy.

Bricks & Minifigs also claimed point-of-sale records showed around $61,000 worth of inventory had been sold before the Salem store changed ownership, alleging Bryan Mansell received roughly $15,000 in payments during that period. The company said it is still investigating any discrepancy between what was sold and what was ultimately paid to the family.

Bricks & Minifigs said it remained willing to compensate the Mansell family for anything that can be shown to be unaccounted for. It also said it is prepared to hand over every remaining Star Wars LEGO item from the former Salem store, regardless of whether ownership can be established.

The Mansell family’s collection gained massive exposure after YouTuber Reckless Ben’s investigative videos.

Bricks & Minifigs first publicly offered to make the Mansell family “whole” after severing ties with the former Salem franchise. The latest statement expands on that offer while providing further detail on how the company says it reached its conclusions.

The company also reiterated its position that the consignment agreement at the center of the dispute was never authorized by Bricks & Minifigs corporate, describing it as a private arrangement between Bryan Mansell and former Salem franchise owner Chrystal Law-Gorman.
