Ore-Ida is adding two new shapes to its iconic Tater Tots lineup with the launch of Dino Tater Tots and Star Tater Tots.
The frozen potato brand announced the new products on May 6, marking the first time Ore-Ida has introduced new Tater Tot shapes in nearly two decades. Both products are permanent additions and will be available nationwide in 28 oz bags as well as 5 lb club-size packs.
The new products keep the same “crispy-outside and fluffy-inside” texture the brand is known for while adding more playful designs aimed at younger consumers and families looking for novelty foods.
“Ore-Ida invented Tater Tots, and now, we’re shaping what comes next,” said Claire Lukaszewski, Senior Brand Manager of Ore-Ida.
“With Dino and Star Tater Tots, we’re building on more than 70 years of potato expertise to bring new energy to the category, delivering the same great taste people expect in formats that feel fun, relevant, and made for today.”

Ore-Ida launches Dino tots to make meals “more fun”
The new Dino Tater Tots are designed around dinosaur-themed shapes, with Ore-Ida saying the product taps into the “cross-generational love of dinosaurs” while making meals more fun for kids and families.
Meanwhile, Star Tater Tots are launching as part of a partnership with America 250, the nationwide celebration tied to the United States’ upcoming 250th anniversary. The product will debut with limited-edition America 250 packaging.
Ore-Ida said the launch is part of its broader “Ore-Ida or Nothing” campaign as the company looks to stand out in the frozen potato aisle with more unique offerings.
The company also claimed fewer than 1% of frozen potato products currently feature novelty shapes beyond traditional styles, calling it a major opportunity for expansion in the category.
