Uwe Boll’s 2026 movie ‘Citizen Vigilante’ is already a PlayStation 5 game and it’s coming out very soon.
Citizen Vigilante stars Armie Hammer as, you guessed it, a vigilante who takes justice into his own hands and hunts down criminals.
The movie, which was banned in Germany and free to watch on X after being promoted by Elon Musk, is now getting a video game and fans can pre-order it on PS5.
Citizen Vigilante is coming to PS5
On July 6, a trailer for the game dropped, showcasing first-person shooter gameplay with graphics somewhere in between PS2 and PS3.
A synopsis for the game states, “Crime has taken over the city. Corruption reaches the highest levels of power. As Sanders, you decide to take justice into your own hands. Hunt down criminals, uncover a conspiracy, and fight your way through intense action across a large urban environment.”
The game, set to release on July 17, will reportedly feature 8 story missions, combat with gore and dismemberment, vehicles, and an original soundtrack from the official film.
The Citizen Vigilante game comes as the movie experienced a bit of a Streisand effect after it was banned and subsequently heavily promoted on social media.
The film had been banned in Germany before being granted an 18+ rating for theaters, but this doesn’t apply to streaming services, downloads, or physical media.
Defending the film, Boll said, “The movie is not against migration. It’s against criminals. It’s against drug dealers, school bullies in one scene, and people who try to harm women in another scene.”

“It’s not only about one specific crime. But those things also happen, and that’s the point where the main character feels that these people are not punished. They don’t even go to jail or get removed from the country. We have cases like this, especially in Germany, where people commit serious crimes and don’t receive proper punishment.”
